Schlag, Christian

Prof. Dr. Christian Schlag is Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. He is also the head of the doctoral program in Finance.

He moved to Frankfurt in April 1998 from the University of Karlsruhe, where he received his doctoral degree in Business Administration in 1994 and his habilitation in 1997. He is a frequent visitor at universities in Europe and the U.S. and regularly teaches at the Owen Graduate School of Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He is also active in various programs in executive education and in joint projects with financial institutions.

His main research interests are the valuation of derivative securities, empirical capital market research, dynamic asset allocation, and general equilibrium models with heterogeneous agents. His work has appeared, among others, in the Journal of Financial and Quantitatve Analysis, Journal of Emprical Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Markets, and Review of Finance. He has presented his research at many international conferences, e.g. at the annual meetings of the Western Finance Association, the American Finance Association, and the European Finance Association.

Christian Schlag is a member of the editorial boards of a number of finance and business journals and has acted many times as a referee for academic journals and funding institutions like the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
