Inderfurth, Karl

Karl Inderfurth is Professor and Chair of Production Management and Logistics at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany. He received a Diploma in Economics from the University of Bonn and a Doctoral Degree in Operations Management and a Habilitation Degree from the Free University of Berlin. Before joining the University of Magdeburg as full professor he held corresponding positions at the Universities of Bielefeld and Bochum, Germany. He had several appointments as visiting professor at the universities of Vienna and Graz in Austria. For several years he worked as assistant to the Board of Directors and as logistics manager with the Schering AG Company in Berlin.
His main research interests cover the fields of Stochastic Inventory Control, Supply Chain Management and Reverse Logistics.
His publications include articles in journals like Operations Research, Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Central European Journal of Operations Research, OR-Spectrum, Omega, Computers and Operations Research, and several German journals.
He is member of the Editorial Review Boards of several international journals and was Managing Editor of OR-Spectrum for a period of four years. Further on, he is member of Scientific Advisory Boards of several German organisations in the field of logistics.
