Rainer Niemann

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Rainer Niemann (Dipl.-Kfm.) is Professor and Chair of the Institute of Accounting and Taxation at the University of Graz. He is also Deputy Chair of the Center for Accounting Research at the University of Graz.

He moved to Graz in October 2004 from the University of Magdeburg where he temporarily held the Chair of Business Taxation. He received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen where he also reached his habilitation (second doctoral degree). He studied Business Administration at the University of Bielefeld.

His main research interests are in taxation, especially international taxation, taxation and investment decisions, taxation under uncertainty. His work has appeared, among others, in International Tax and Public Finance, FinanzArchiv, and Economics Letters. He has presented his research at international conferences and has been recipient of a VHB Best Paper Award.
