Albers, Sönke

Editor-in-Chief and Department Editor (Marketing)

Sönke Albers is Professor of Marketing and Innovation and Dean of Research at Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg. He received his doctoral degree from University of Hamburg in 1977 in Business Administration and Operations Research. Later on, he specialized in Marketing and Innovation and got his "Habilitation" in 1982 at University at Kiel. Prior to his current position he served on the faculties of WHU, University of Lüneburg, and Christian-Albrechts-University at Kiel.

He has published widely in international journals such as Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management and in German journals such as Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft, Zeitschrift für betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung, Die Betriebswirtschaft, and Marketing ZFP. He won the ISMS-MSI Practice Prize 2010 and received the EMAC Distinguished Scholar Award 2011. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University of Frankfurt. Currently, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief and Department Editor Marketing of BuR - Business Research.
