BuR Manuscript Evaluation Criteria
The following criteria are used as guidelines in evaluating the submitted articles.
1) Topic
Is the topic important and interesting?
2) Literature
Does the paper reference previous work appropriately?
3) Theory
Is the paper based on sound theory?
4) Conceptual Model
Does the conceptual model lead to new insights?
5) Data and Design
In case of empirical work, is it based on good data and an appropriate design?
6) Methodology
Do the sample, measures, methods, observations, procedures, and statistical analyses ensure internal and external validity? Are the statistical procedures used correctly and appropriately? Are the major assumptions of the statistical techniques well met? Does the study provide a good test of the theory and hypotheses, or sufficient empirical grounds for building new theory? Is the method chosen – either qualitative or quantitative – appropriate for the research question and theory?
7) Contribution
Does the paper make a new and meaningful contribution to the literature in terms of theory, empirical knowledge, and practice?
8) Readability
Is the readability of the article appropriate?
9) Appropriateness of Structure
Is the structure appropriate for an online article (short main text, well documented by appendices and supplementary material)?
